Hauptaufgaben Serves as an assistant to the Grocery Department Manager in the day to day operation of the store's activities and with assigned responsibility for performing a variety of administrative, supervisory, technical and clerical work.

The works involve planning, monitoring, coordination, and staff/employee supervision of Korean National and U.

S.

employees engaged in the operation of the Grocery Department.

In the absence of the Grocery Department Manager, the incumbent assumes the duties and responsibilities of the Grocery manager.

Assists the Grocery Department Manager in planning, organizing, and directing the operation of the Grocery Department engaged in receiving grocery items, inspecting for condition, and verifying quantities shown on delivery receipts; processing, packaging, pricing, displaying and replenishing supplies; conducting inventories and cleaning display cases and shelves.

Makes general assignments and advises subordinates on objectives to be achieved, anticipated problems and general policy applicability.

Maintains close liaison with grocery vendors and sales personnel to accomplish this task.

Coordinates with vendors regarding items to be ordered or discontinued and discusses the display of items and any special features that may be passed on as benefits to the customer.

Plans current and future requirements considering such factors as trends in grocery industry, availability, costs, rate of stock turnover, requisitioning or procurements lead time, known stock on hand, usual or unusual sales, demands, stock excesses, seasonal supply fluctuations, and similar data.

Plans arrangement and display of promotional sales items, establishes control for prevention of pilferage.

Ensures that sanitation and safety precautions are observed.

Inspects all commissary store equipment such as refrigerated display cases, scales, and lights and reports any required maintenance to the proper section for repair or replacement.

Checks refrigerated equipment daily to ensure adequate temperate levels are maintained and all alarm systems are properly maintained in working order.

Assists the Grocery Department Manager in the supervision of KN and US personnel within the limited range.

Performs other duties as assigned.
