Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic Leader Waegwan, South Korea Ausschreibungsbereich All current USFK KN employees located in Area IV and serviced by Civilian Human Resources Agency - Far East Region (CHRA-FER) Hauptaufgaben Serves as working leader in the Heavy Equipment Division with responsibility for participating in overall operations of field, sustainment, and below depot level repair functions, and Care of Supplies in Storage (COSIS) for military tactical vehicles.

Equipment maintained includes; tactical wheeled vehicles (all categories; light, medium and heavy), construction equipment, materiel handling equipment, combat vehicles (excluding turret systems), and marine machinery.

Systems include but not limited to all versions of the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP), Stryker, Armored Security Vehicles (ASV), Heavy Equipment Transporter (HET), Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck (HEMTT), Palletized Load System (PLS), Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTV), Highly Mobile Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV), trailers, forklifts, cranes, Rough Terrain Container Handler (RTCH), graters, dozers, Armored Combat Earth-mover (ACE), Assault Breacher Vehicle (ABV), M1 Abrahams, M2 Bradley, M109 Paladin, M992 Field Artillery Ammunition Support Vehicle (FASSV), and M88 Recovery Vehicle.

The occupation and grade level that best reflect the nature of the overall work operation are Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic, KWB-5803-7.

a.

Work Planning: Draws items needed for daily work; sequence of jobs is automatic or directed by higher authority; follows step-by-step work procedures provided or applies usual practices of trade; knowledge of work methods beyond that of journeyman level in the fine of work not required.

b.

Selecting and Evaluating Subordinates: On request provides supervisor with information on performance of workers.

As requested by supervisor, makes informal appraisal of performance of crew members.

c.

Assigning Work: Supervisor assigns workers to project; leader assigns tasks to individual workmen giving instructions at beginning of and during operations per instructions received from supervisor; sets pace of work for members of the group; may require that more exacting or difficult tasks be cleared with him before accomplishment.

Supervisor handles coordination with other crews.

Ordinarily work order requirements and methods are routine.

Reviewing Work: May check work in progress or on completion; is alert for ways to reduce costs; stresses economy; refers to supervisor ideas for possible reduction of costs; corrects work deficiencies or calls to attention of supervisor.

Improving Methods: From journeyman knowledge makes suggestions for improving work methods and achieving economy.

f.

Other Personnel Tasks: Maintains discipline; notes need for and recommends action to provide employee services.

Refers personnel problems to supervisor.

Receives specific assignments from supervisor.

Trains employees in what is to be done, how it is to be done and works with them demonstrating proper procedures and production expected.

Uses Technical Manuals (TM); paper, Electronic Technical Manuals (ETM), and Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM) to ensure maintenance tasks are performed in accordance with established methods, replacement of mandatory parts, and determine tool requirements.

Participates in maintenance support missions away for normally assigned work area, occasionally in a Temporary Duty (TDY) status.

Performs other duties as assigned.
