Quality Inspection Technician Waegwan, South Korea Ausschreibungsbereich All current USFK KN employees located in Area IV and serviced by Civilian Human Resources Agency - Far East Region (CHRA-FER) Hauptaufgaben Performs technical and quality control inspections in any of the four activity areas: Receiving, Cyclic, Care and Preservation (C& P), and Shipping.
Inspects equipment and supplies in the following material categories: B (Other Support Equipment, Ground Forces Support Material), E (General Supplies, DSA/GSA Items), F (Clothing and Textiles), G (Communication and Electronics), H (Air Materials)) L (Missile Material), M (Weapons and Self-Propelled Weapons), 0 (Electronic Material DSA/GSA Items), R Certain Chemical and Solid Fuels) and T (industrial Supplies, DSA/GSA Items).
Inspections assigned are comprised primarily of major end items with many components and subassemblies.
These items include tracked/wheeled vehicles, construction equipment, material handling equipment, and communication shelters.
Inspection and testing methods include visual inspection, component tear down inspection, functional testing, and specially designed tests as specified in various reference sources.
Work requires knowledge of quality control methods, principles, and practices, pertinent product characteristics and applicable production maintenance, or repair methods and processes, to include skill in interpreting and applying product specifications, technical data, regulations and guideline materials, and conducting studies and investigations and problem analysis.
Completes all required inspection forms, reports and quality feedback information.
When any deficiencies are found in any areas, initiates corrective action request along with recommendations in English.
1.
Conducts acceptance inspection of new material received for stock, customer returns and for inter-depot receipts' in-process and final inspection of material through care and preservation or minor repair prior to placing in storage.
Primarily responsible for visual inspection and physical examination of all items for item identification, acceptance, condition classification, reparability, preservation and packing to assure compliance with serviceability standards or designate nature and extent of work required to restore to serviceable condition classifying items as salvage, monitoring of modification work orders as pertinent, ascertaining whether item is economically repairable on the basis of acquisition cost, established repair criteria, and expenditure limits.
Prepares written reports in connection with any deficiencies and condition of equipment and initiates necessary documents to effect changes in stock number, nomenclature ' condition, serviceability, etc., based on inspection performed.
Undertakes and/or gives guidance in projects of more broad and complex nature.
Makes determination or recommendations of acceptability or quality which require use of subjective judgment in borderline situations or in the absence of specific criteria, requiring familiarity with a wide range of inspection guides and a general knowledge of commodity characteristics.
Refers to supervisor and/or higher-grade specialists on major problems for resolution such as controversial situations, obsolete guides, lack of guides, policy, etc.
Investigates and prepares reports on discrepancies such as damage and improper shipment of items.

Performs scheduled cyclic inspection of material in storage to detect material degradation, corrosion and other deficiencies caused by improper storage methods Material inspected again ranges from common hardware to complete vehicle assemblies.
Inspections include visual, dimensional and functional check.
Arranges for lab test as determined necessary.
Recommends changes in type or location of storage, revisions of sampling plan etc., as required.

Completes inspection forms and certifies by signature the acceptance or rejection of material or the condition of material.
Advises operating personnel on specification requirements on material as to methods of cleaning, processing, preserving, loading, marking, and bracing.
As required, collects and maintains statistical quality control data involving tabulation of type and number of defects found Uses various gauges and instruments such as micrometers, etc.

4.
Performs pre-shipping inspections on serviceable, unserviceable, and packaged general supplies, major principal items; secondary items being shipped to posts, camps, stations and returned to CONUS depot.
Inspects material processed through Care and Preservation prior to storage, Reviews packaging plans used by C& P Div personnel to assure conformance with established standards.
Makes recommendations to packaging planners when published standards are not available.
Inspects in- process and completed work by C& P Div personnel to assure conformance to applicable packaging plan.

Performs special inspection of suspected defective material, unserviceable material, improperly packaged material etc., stored at MSC-K.
Inspections are performed at the request of Material Readiness Commands, 19th ESC or local sources and cover a wide range of items from common hardware to complete vehicle assemblies.
Inspections require a detailed analysis of material and reports on the quality and usability of materials inspected, recommends corrective action on deficiencies caused by improper storage.

Performs inspection of units or sets undergoing assembly action including Basic issue Items.
Reviews packing lists against specified supply catalogs: technical manuals, exception data forms and other documentation to assure adequacy and accuracy.
Inspects to assure assembled units or sets are packed to the requirements of the assembly order.
Inspects pack marking to assure compliance with M IL-STD-129.
Classify the sets to the appropriate condition code and attached the appropriate material condition tags or labels.
7.
Performs walk through in storage surveys to determine general storage condition adequacy of storage warehouses, material handling practices and conditions etc.
Evaluates results of survey and makes recommendations for correction of problem areas.
8.
Makes recommendations to Division Chief which could affect division policies, provides general guides to lower level inspectors, and rejects or accepts work performed by Storage and C& P personnel.
Lacking specific instructions, uses available general guidelines to make specific decisions on methods and criteria of inspection.
When presented a new or unique product, recommends method and criteria for inspection.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifikationsanforderungen 1.
This position has been designated as KN EMERGENCY-ESSENTIAL (MISSION ESSENTIAL).
KN EE (ME) Position Agreement Form (USFK Form 200 EK) must be signed prior to appointment of the selectee for this position.
2.
Relocation Allowance will NOT be authorized for the selectee from outside the commuting area.
