The role is responsible for many aspects of developing both fixed and floating offshore wind projects in Korea including all permits and consents required for the development and construction of the projects.We are looking for applicants with Korean offshore wind experience who hold an enthusiasm to enter an industry that will allow them to make a difference in the world and have an important role in developing deliver clean, sustainable renewable energy to Korea.If you have skills that are relevant and transferrable to this position, we would be delighted to hear from you! The Korean renewables industry is fast moving, rapidly developing and an exciting place to be.Your Role : Business development: Support the development activities in fixed and floating offshore wind in Korea with respect to:Prospecting for greenfield development projects including desktop screening, visiting local areas and engaging with local stakeholders to understand the risks, opportunities and build support for the submission of OPPW applications. Perform environmental and communities site assessment, identifying restrictions, impacts and mitigations.Investigate potential opportunities for acquisition and support M&A activities including, but not limited to due diligence, scheduling, budget & resource planning and negotiation.Investigate opportunities for of Public Led Developments (PLDs), regional ‘beauty contents’ and potential future Central Auction (under the future Special Bill). Promote our efforts capitalise on these opportunities by supporting Bid Managers and Project Leads to formulate bidding strategies and prepare proposals, including but not limited to looking into the trends of competitors and relevant authorities, proposing unique value adds that may be attractive to policy makers, and drafting proposals.Assist projects in the required approval process of greenfield projects by, including but not limited to, permit drafting, permit submission, authorities assessment and permit approval, including representation of the Company in hearings and proceedings, and maintain documentation of the process and conditions for all permits.Develop key aspects of the OPPWs, preliminary assessment for EBLs, and other key permitting processes for early stage offshore wind development projects located around Korea. This will involve travel to project locations to meet with local stakeholders and permitting authorities.Liaise with regional experts in key offshore consenting matters and draw on expertise from consultancies with offices in Korea, other APAC countries, and Europe.Working closely with key supporting functions, such as procurement, engineering, partnerships & transactions and regulatory affairs, for example, to ensure key environmental, technical, engineering and regulatory inputs for the relevant permitting processes are delivered within time and budget according to our internal requirements, and to the level of quality and detail to meet the requirements of relevant permitting authorities and stakeholders.Assist and support other development activities such as wind measurement campaigns, community engagement initiatives, interconnection and permitting processes necessary for Projects.Working effectively with internal company policies and procedures to keep management updated on development and permitting status, risks and opportunities, as well as gaining the necessary internal approvals to progress early stage development projects.Your Profile :Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience; advanced degree preferred. 5+ years demonstrated experience with renewable energy projects.Demonstrated problem solving, negotiating and oral and written communication skills in both Korean and English.
