Hauptaufgaben Serves as the technical advisor and consultant to the SPO or Chief of Munitions on matters pertaining to ammunition logistics management.

Incumbent has direct responsibility for, and works in conjunction with Senior DA Civilian Ammunition Managers from 8 TSC - Support Operation's Ammunition Branch, United States Forces Korea, Eighth United States Army, Combined Forces Command staff, and Republic Of Korea - Army staff in the development of plans, programs and procedures to enhance ammunition logistics support for United States Forces Korea and Republic Of Korea Forces under the provisions of the Single Ammunition Logistics System-Korea (SALS-K) Agreement.

Develops, coordinates and reviews ammunition support plans/requirements for various contingency and operational plans, programs and projects.

Develops ammunition goals for the 19th Expeditionary Sustainment Command and establishes milestones for each project.

Provides supporting data and comprehensive Single Ammunition Logistics System-Korea systems related ammunition planning information, recommendations, alternatives and impact statements and performance criteria to command, staff and program managers.

Reviews and evaluates munitions requirements and distribution plans for United States Forces Korea/Eighth United States Army/Combined Forces Command to assure readiness and capability to effectively support combat operations.

Identifies potential problem areas and makes recommendations for corrective action.

As Project officer, Incumbent makes use of internal tracking mechanisms and SAAS System for management, and acquisition of Theater Stocks, and the development / execution of tangible retrograde lists for retrograde ammunition through direct contact with 8 TSC Munitions Branch, JMC, and DA-G4 Ammunition Managers.

CL V retrograde is currently programmed for two vessels per year.

Develops policy guides, directives and regulations pertaining to ammunition management at ROK facilities, transportation and security activities throughout Republic of Korea.

Revises, coordinates and publishes procedures and letters of instructions to 19 ESC subordinate commands to standardize and institutionalize various aspects of ammunition management for internal and external controls support.

Maintains close coordination with Republic of Korea Army Ammunition Support Command, ROK Logistics Support Command, Ground Operations Command (GOC) Republic of Korea Army staffs to assure timely awareness of problems and issues that could have an adverse impact on the United States Forces Korea/Eighth United States Army/19th Theater Support Command mission accomplishment, and advises the SPO accordingly.

Schedules meetings with Republic of Korea -Army officials as necessary.

Leads and performs periodic (at least quarterly) staff visits to Republic of Korea Army Ground Operations Command (GOC), Ammunition Support Command, and selected Ordnance Companies, Ammunition Supply Points and Ammunition Depots for mutual exchange of information, update on Republic of Korea - Army initiatives and identify any issues which may impact combined ammunition operations.

Performs other duties as assigned.
