1. Perform AE Leader Function in the Korea
- Project Execution: Manage team and tasks to ensure projects are executed successfully and on-time. Ensure cross-functional alignment and support will deliver smooth flawless launches with minimal escalations. Execute baseline management principles, review and approve all Technical Offers, TRA’s and Release Letters, and generate ERR status summaries. Ensure team members are using standardized BOMs, minimize parts proliferation, and meet MRL targets. Track AE/PE/DE/Lab workload, work with cross-functional team leaders to align prioritization and resources. Work with team leaders to resolve issues early enough to provide sufficient recovery time. Liaise with Supply Base and Manufacturing to ensure launches, quality and field issues are successfully closed ahead of target.
- People: Hire, train and deploy and high performance AE team that is autonomous and proactive as well as collaborative and transparent with the WW organization. Ensure a robust succession plan and give candid feedback to address poor performance. Drive a continuous productivity improvement process to ensure that we are maximizing efficiency as well as deploying resource to respond to customer need.
- Customer Engagement: Drive DEEP at the customer to ensure that TS are well connected at all levels. Ensure that TS understand the customer’s engine roadmap and that the TS portfolio is aligned accordingly and own the product roadmap in front of each customer. Drive excellence in project execution to ensure flawless launch and immediate resolution of any launch or field issues.
- Regional Leadership & Technical Seniority: Own the regional wider engineering activity including design, prototype and test. Seek customer input and align support resource accordingly to ensure the highest possible 5-star rating. Optimize work flow between the departments and own the continuous improvement roadmap for these activities in the region.
- MOS and Metrics: Ensure appropriate AE and Design participation to all relevant MOS (Engineering, Launch Readiness, HR), support Global AE and LVG, LVD, & CV Product Engineering AOP and STRAP. Report monthly on key results and metrics.
2. Lead KOREA AE, DESIGN and PROTO/LAB as matrix manager for Process Improvements
- Training & Competencies: Ensure AE and DESIGN teams achieve training goals regarding technical / leadership / negotiation skills and corporate initiatives. Track progress and ensure training results are recorded by owners.
- Process/tools Improvement: Participate actively to development of Global AE/PE initiatives and roll-out in region. Propose global improvements based on regional learnings & customer feedback.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s in Engineering Degree or equivalent; Master’s in Engineering or MBA a plus
15+ years Engineering and/or Management experience in the automotive industry essential; previous experience in Application Engineering, Product Engineering and/or in a direct customer facing role is an advantage
Language Skills: English mandatory; other languages would be an advantage
Strong bias for action and cross-functional collaboration
Strong internal and customer communication skills required
Ability to influence through matrix management
Ability to work with a sense of urgency under pressure and tight deadlines
