Hauptaufgaben As the Design Manager, incumbent is responsible for managing the effective coordination and accomplishment of design documents and specifications relative to new construction of major projects which vary in complexity from troop housing and support facilities to highly technical communications, POL, storage port facilities, and weapons installations.
The incumbent applies broad professional knowledge of the theories, concept, principles, methods, and practices of specific engineering discipline to include civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and architectural engineering, as well as administrative/management functions such as funds control, contract analysis and contract negotiation.
Serves as a senior engineer, with responsibility for providing professional engineering expertise relative to the design and specifications preparation, review, control and monitoring of projects in the following programs in the Republic of Korea (ROK): military, non-appropriated, dependent schools, medical, family housing and host nation funded construction for the Army, Air Force, Navy/Marines; and those of other Federal agencies.
The incumbent is responsible for managing the efficient and effective coordination and accomplishment of the planning, scoping, development, design, construction, and direction of major projects.
Applies an extensive knowledge of management concepts, principles, methods and practices as well as knowledge of methods, practices and processes of engineering and science disciplines.
Provides technical and administrative management of Architect-Engineer (A-E) or in-house design projects for construction, maintenance, alteration, repair and for special projects or feasibility studies.
Solves, advises on or evaluates complex project design management problems which involve difficult or unusual planning, scheduling, negotiation and coordination, as well as less-complex project management assignments.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifikationsanforderungen BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have completed a three or four-year course of study above high school in a ROKG authorized or recognized college or university leading to a degree with appropriate license or certification in the occupation.
