Serves assenior interpreter within the Command Group who will work out of Y-C HQ, with priority forsupporting all GC events and other combined events for DGC or other directors engaging with ROKorganizations.

Acts as the final translation authority for the Commander on the accuracy oftranslations pertaining to all documents, letters, agreements, reports, and written statements.

Matters discussed cover an unlimited range of subjects, many of which are classified.

The services include, but are not limited to, interpretation at meetings and conferences with senior ROKministerial level officials including the ROK Presidential Security Service and US military and civilianleaders, translation of executive communications such as letters, memoranda, agreements, laws,and regulations.

At least 40% of work is performed at USAG Casey or elsewhere in Area I.

Performs oral translations from English into Korean and vice versa for meetings and briefings.

Acts as interpreter/translator at meetings, major combined exercises and training events attendedby Y-C and all Korean counterparts.

Must be able to interpret at real-time speed with anunderstanding of military and Armistice specific terminology in both English and Korean.

Interpretsverbal conversation or written statements of a routine nature.

May be recalled to duty with limitednotification based on significant events.

Possess excellent writing skills and a sound mastery ofvarious Hangul and English language standards with the ability to translate documents from Englishinto Hangul and vise versa.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifikationsanforderungen NOTE: 1.

Target Grade of this position is KGS-11.

If the position is filled at the lower grade than target grade, the incumbent may be promoted to target grade non-competitively upon satisfactory completion of the job requirements, recommendation by the supervisor, and subject to meeting time-in-grade and qualification requirements.

Relocation Allowance will NOT be authorized for the selectee from outside the commuting area.

For Area II applicants: Selectee for this position may be eligible for relocation allowance if applicable and all requirements in paragraph 8-13 (Relocation Allowance) of USFK regulation 690-1 are met.

Under the Yongsan Relocation Plan (YRP), individual moves of the selectee from Area II to other Areas will be authorized by the YRP moving services processes as stipulated in Civilian Human Resources Transformation Guidance.

Incumbent is required to be available during normal duty hours and after normal duty hours (oncall basis).

This position has business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
