JOB TITLE: Product Engineer
DIVISION: GAP (Gas and Process)
REPORT TO: Engineering Manager
LOCATION: Busan, South Korea
[Mission]
The Product Engineer will need to communicate and support globally with all GAP entities and departments involved. The need for a continuous exchange with all relevant marine class societies and other external stakeholders is self-explaining to fulfill the task described. The position embedded in the divisional GAP R&D team in Cologne provides the assurance of technical support and close cooperation with people who have individually drawn relevant experiences on the listed topics. The position is in Busan, South Korea.
[Key Responsibilities]
The position includes, but is not limited to, the following tasks and activities:
Global evaluation and technical advice:
in all internal and external supply chain mattersin GAP core and package assembly shopsin factory acceptance tests and on vessels tests (gas trials)for units in operation supporting GAP AftermarketFurthermore, Product engineer will be dedicated support in all marine class society matters.
Marine class society specialist:
analyzing all relevant marine class society requirements in view of GAP product design and executionanalyzing relevant yard-, shipowner- and EPC specifications in view of GAP product design and execution to update on and follow up of all relevant marine class topics.to follow up, to maintain and to extend product and component type approvals of marine classes.[Job Requirements]
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical or automation/electrical engineering or comparable.Minimum of 5 years engineering background and commercial experience.Reliable team player for the well organized and culturally sensitive.Technical knowledge about turbo and/or screw compressor packages (rotating machinery) and related auxiliary equipment like heat exchanger, drives, controls, …Having experience in marine environment, especially marine class knowledge is a strong surplus.Very good knowledge of English, both written and spoken, Korean language is your mother tongue.Confident handling of MS O, ERP system (SAP is a surplus) and our PLM system.Willingness to travel
