Hauptaufgaben Assists higher graded recreation specialist in performing outdoor recreation program such as: planning, developing, promoting, coordinating and providing instruction on classes in a variety of outdoor skill areas including but not limited to: camping, sailing, backpacking, canoeing, water skiing, and other water sports, boating, fishing, snow skiing (downhill and cross country), rappelling, rock climbing and other high adventure outdoor activities.

Also assists in planning outings and trips including day and weekend trips (skiing, camping, etc.).

Assists in developing, planning and coordinating fund raising special events, and ticket sales.

Stimulates participants, encourages participation and observes individual and group reactions and recommends adjustments in procedures and techniques consistent with safety practices.

Furnishes advice to participants, interacts in various types of outdoor activities, and demonstrates methods and procedures..

Assists in the evaluation effectiveness of ongoing outdoor recreation activities from the standpoint of participant response, resources, unforeseen developments, and program objectives.

Assists in maintaining records, SOPs, preparing and submitting periodic reports on operation, activities, and attendance at the various facilities and program.

Designs flyers to advertise activities.

Assists in compiling data, preparing request and justification for recommended expenditure of funds necessary.

Assists in developing fund annual requirements for the programs.

Submits proposals for supplies and equipment.

Assists in monitoring all sources of income.

Responsible for maintenance of supplies and equipment for the fishing areas, garden plots, recreational vehicle lot, and sports/camping equipment.

Assures that fire, safety, security and sanitation inspections are conducted and routine maintenance of facilities is performed.

Assists in planning and design of construction projects that include facility renovations and new construction.

Collects fees from patrons, prepares appropriate forms and reports and maintains a cash account balance.

Uses electronic computer equipment (i.e., REC TRAC, E-MAIL, SMIRF, FMBS) to monitor cash sales and stay abreast of new techniques and informative systems.

Performs other duties as assigned.
