HANA Tooling team is responsible for developing tools to detect and address performance issues and employing Artificial Intelligence techniques to improve database administrative work.

We are seeking a Software Engineer, focusing on application development to support database administration and monitoring.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS Responsible for development focusing on database tools and cloud services In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development, deployment, and testing) Develop HANA database admin applications in SAP HANA Cloud Central Be responsible for timely and high-quality product delivery Co-work with colleagues in North America, China, and Europe SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or relevant field Good knowledge in data structures, algorithms, database management Extensive knowledge on database administration including logging, recovery, and replication Strong proficiency in front-end technologies such as Java Script, Node.js, JAVA, XML, HTML5/CSS3, and modern Java Script frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js) Extensive experience with back-end technologies such as Node.js, Python, or Java Familiarity with OData, RESTful services, and microservices architecture Experience in SQL, Python, Git Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

Willingness to learn and flexibility to switch to new subject matters quickly Excellent team player, self-motivated with strong communication skills High proficiency in spoken and written English Preferred Qualifications (Plus factors): Experience in Kubernetes and Docker Experience in DB administration or DB application development Understanding of UX/UI design principles and experience with design tools like Figma.

Knowledge of Dev Ops practices and tools.
