Job Purpose: The Solutions Engineer is a key contributor to the sales cycle by identifying key customer requirements related to content delivery and streaming services and match these requirements to specific Limelight Networks solutions.

The Solutions Engineer leads the provision of pre-and post-sales support for new and existing clients and accounts.

The Solutions Engineer directs, designs, documents and implements solutions incorporating business planning, network design and capacity planning.

Essential Functions: Engage in conference calls, in person visits, respond to RFP/RFI’s and address all technical concerns during each phase of the sales cycle including implementation.

Be the thought leader providing guidance to product development and mentoring to the sales organization.

Assist the sales team in achieving specific direct sales revenue goals by managing the technical sales portion of the prospecting and provisioning stages, using a thorough understanding of Limelight Networks’ technologies.

Design, document and assist in the implementation of solutions. Communicates account status with sales team and customer staff.

Develop major technical pre-sales design recommendations and related justifications within the context or defined and client-approved requirements and constraints.

Communicate technical design requirements, constraints, functionality and implementation details. Participate in the training and development of associate engineers.

Provide guidance and mentoring for staff.

Qualifications: Experience and Education (minimums)Bachelor’s Degree in related field.5+ years’ experience in a technical field such as IT, web development, Internet technologies or equivalent.2+ years’ experience in Internet industry, i.e.

CDN field, web development, online video platform (OVP), Encoding/Transcoding technology and/or Content Management System experience.2+ years’ experience in Sales/Pre-Sales, Sales Engineering, consulting and/or other customer facing field industry.

Deep Internet/Web experience.

Knowledge of basic web development and E-commerce.

(Experience with Java Script, PHP, ASP, JSP as well as APIs (SOAP, REST).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills. Ability to effectively communicate across many levels with an organization from Executives, revenue owners, Marketing personnel and/or IT staff.

Ability to prioritize schedule and make good decisions without seeking approval. Ability to be outgoing, detail oriented, energetic and self-reliant.

Understanding of technologies including: DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, Web Caching, Streaming, Web browsers/servers (e.g.

Firefox, Apache, IIS), routing and network troubleshooting techniques.

Knowledge of online technologies such as CMS platforms, OVP solutions, mobile platforms and content lifecycle/publishing and security solutions/DRM.
