About SAP STAR Program
Global Student Training and Rotation (STAR) Program offers university students hands-on industry experience at SAP, the world’s leading software provider. As part of a global program across 14 countries, STAR students work on real business projects and develop professional skills. Unlike most internships, this program allows students to continue their studies at university without taking a break or needing to graduate first. Upon graduation, you will have opportunities to apply for open positions within SAP and potentially become a valued member of our team.
Education and Q ualifications
Open to undergraduate students who meet the following requirements and process the core competencies listed below.
E xpected to gradua t e in Feb. 202 7 , Aug. 202 7 , or Feb. 202 8 ( required )
Course work in Database, Data Structures, Operating Systems (Linux), Algorithms, etc.
Experience s in SQL-based data analysis or semantical data modeling are highly preferred
Any practical project or work experience on LLM-based application development using Lang Graph / Lang Chain is highly preferred
Analytical skills combined with the ability to work on complex topics is a plus
An open-minded, proble m-solving attitude, resilience, and positive spirit even under challenging conditions
Any project or course work experience with Docker, K8s, Containerization is a plus
Experience in one or more programming languages - Python ( preferred ), Golang
Intermediate communication skills in English (Fluent is a plus)
Role Overview : Developer
The program includes a rotation system that allows you to participate in three different projects or teams within the organization. Your first rotation will be in the HANA Cloud Service Team.
The HANA Cloud Service team delivers diverse cloud services, including data storage and cloud observability, for both internal operations and customers. As our enterprise cloud environment continues to expand in scale and adoption, we're intensifying our focus on quality, agility, and operational efficiency.
Our team is now prioritizing automation through AI capabilities - including traditional ML and Gen AI - to enhance cloud operations such as incident management and complex database issue analysis using internal observability data.
Here is the example of a project topic:
AI-powered automated observability data management and analysis
Automat ion of the memory usage pattern analysis to proactively detect memory related issues ( e.g. leakage)
Automation of CI pipeline for verifying the A gent quality
Program & Work Details
18-month structured program with learning, mentorship, and rotations
Full-time (40 hrs/week) during breaks; part-time (20 hrs/week) or full-time during semesters
Flexible hours aligned with academic schedules
Eligible to apply for full-time roles after 9 months and graduation
Supports university field practicum / academic credit programs ( 대학 현장실습 프로그램 / 학점인정 프로그램 ).
